CPR First Aid
CPR First Aid
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
CPR is the abbreviation for Cardiopulmonary resuscitation. CPR First Aid may not necessarily restart the heart, but it does facilitate the flow of oxygenated blood to the brain and the heart. This then delays the death of tissues, and extends the chances of a successful resuscitation, or revival without any permanent brain damage.
How CPR First Aid works
The air that we breathe in, travels to our lungs and here it is that oxygen is picked up by the blood. The blood is then pumped by the heart to our tissues and organs. When a person has a heart attack or a cardiac arrest, the heart will eventually cease to beat properly. Therefore oxygen is prevented from circulating throughout the body, leading to the rapid killing of cells and tissues.
Cardio (heart) Pulmonary (lung) Resuscitation (revive, revitalize) serves as an artificial heartbeat and an artificial respirator.
CPR does not always save the victim even when performed properly, but if it is started within 4 minutes of cardiac arrest and defibrillation is performed within 10 minutes, the person has a 40% increased chance of survival.

CPR First Aid Certification
During training, the student can learn the skills and knowledge needed to properly perform this important part of First Aid.
Online CPR training is an easy, fast and convenient way of learning the proper techniques for CPR, AED, and First Aid.
Online courses may contain videos, images and text demonstrations, so that you can learn the proper techniques and then feel confident in your ability to perform in an emergency.

CPR for Adults, Children and Infants
In most cases, Adult CPR is performed on persons over the age of 8.
Child CPR, is performed on any victim between the ages of 1 to 8. The main thing to remember about Child CPR is that, cardiac arrest in children is seldom due to heart failure, but usually by an injury which causes the breathing to stop. Like adults, they tend to respond to CPR much better if it is administered as soon as possible.
Infant CPR is administered to any victim under the age of 12 months. Infants, just like children, have a much better chance of survival if CPR First Aid is performed immediately.
